TODAY Begins the New Parallax Course (with Marc Gafni and Zak Stein): Value is Real
Why Saying This Clearly May Save Civilization [and our Souls]
Starts this Saturday, September 7th
8:30 am PDT (Los Angeles), 11:30 am EDT (New York), 5:30 pm CET (Paris)
This invitation is from our friend Andrew Sweeny from Parallax:
Dear Friends,
There is still time to join us for the upcoming Parallax course with Dr. Marc Gafni
and Dr. Zak Stein, starting September 7.
In this course, Marc and Zak will deepen the themes raised in the David J
Temple book, First Principles and First Values. The Eye of Value will
be contrasted with the Eye-of-Anti-Value, and the topics of anthro-ontology,
story, and value will be explored in depth.
Participants will be engaged in a series of dialogues at the edges of human
knowledge, where there is a dance between the languages of science and the
sacred, and between the lineages of ancient wisdom and our living memory of the future.
We live in unprecedented times and we face a choice:
We can either continue with business as usual or actively work to change the
current course of reality by reclaiming the fundamental principles and values
that lie at its heart.
Please listen to Dr. Marc’s poignant invitation, and if you feel the call, join us for this timely and essential course:
What You Will Learn
This second part of the Eye of Value series, which you can join even if you
missed the first part, introduces four primary new dimensions:
Scripts of Desire: Understand the erotic basis for being and how life
itself is imbued with scripts of desire, moving beyond mythopoetic
interpretations to ontological realities.
Imagination: Explore the profound role of imagination in our political,
economic, mystical, social, and psychological lives. Discover what it means to
be Homo Imaginus, not just Homo sapiens.
Value is Real and Good: Engage with the assertion that value is an
ontological reality deeply embedded in the cosmos. We will challenge and
evolve contemporary Value Theory to reveal the pulsing Eros of Value.
Need, Desire, Value, Rights, and Responsibilities: Investigate the
crucial connections between these five elements, understanding how they
form the foundation of our ethical and existential framework.
